What is Oxygen Paint Additive

Oxygen paint additive is a scientifically engineered smart mineral-based biofilter with photocatalytic properties that actively purifies air, neutralizes harmful bacteria and supports human health and wellness in the process. It can be added to any acrylic based paint and is ideal for indoor spaces. Oxygen can go on any well prepared surface such as walls, ceilings, trims, and wooden floors. It can also be applied as a final TOP coating over existing acrylic paint. Within 24 hours after the paint has dried Oxygen will begin to purify the air in any size room.

How does the air purification process work?

The air purification process is a photocatalytic process that changes the molecular structure of VOCs upon contact . By taking away Oxygen molecules from harmful pollutants such as Co2 or Nox, VOCs become inactive. For airborne and surface bacteria the process is different in that the earth minerals used are able to cut the outer cell membrane of the microscopic organism and in doing so deactivates the DNA. Once this happens the harmful bacteria or mold becomes neutralized. This is how Oxygen prevents the spread of mold and prevents germs from staying airborne. What tests are used to verify the high quality of Oxygen?

Oxygen additive is made of earth minerals that have undergone stringent testing for the materials that are used and while we recognize that there maybe products on the market manufactured with unreliable material sources we are able to test our minerals with documentation and validation from reputable international microbiology labs in Canada and the United States. We also have quality control (QC) systems in place to make sure that our standards are maintained in every production cycle. This is done through our XRF (X-ray fluorescence) tests which is a non-destructive analytical technique used to determine the elemental composition of materials. In addition, we also run scanning electron microscope (SEM) tests which is a type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning the surface with a focused beam of electrons.

Can Oxygen work with any color paint?

While we recommend using Oxygen additive with flat white paints with soft earth texture, Oxygen can be mixed with any acrylic paint and color pigment of choice. Once you have purchased your gallon of paint simply add the 60 gram Oxygen pouch into the paint and mix for 2 to 3 minutes for full dispersion. After that paint on surface.

How long does Oxygen additive last?

Oxygen additive comes with a 10 YEAR FUNCTIONAL WARRENTY so long as the paint is in good condition on the wall or ceiling surface. For Oxygen to work consistently over this duration of time, like all things, it will require care and protection which means, NO scraping, NO scratching, NO cuts on the surface where Oxygen is applied and NO hard damp washing. Once Oxygen is applied on walls or ceilings let it dry for half a day and it will begin to clean the air in any room for up to 10 years.

Why should I buy Oxygen, isn’t an air purifier enough?

Traditional methods of air purification, such as air conditioners, air purifiers, HVACs and air ionizers use expensive electrical devices with filters. These filters tend to require cleaning and rely on electrical power. Oxygen neutralizes atmospheric pollutants transforming them into harmless substances, in a natural way, 10 times faster and for much longer duration without dispersing them back in the environment in their original form. You will also be saving money on electrical bills for up to 10 years. Now that’s a saving.

On what surfaces can Oxygen be applied?

Oxygen can be applied to almost all architectural surfaces, whether newly built or already painted. The only real exception is glass because it scratches off easily like most paints do.

How many coatings are required and how long does Oxygen take to dry?

On a well primed uncoated surface you will need 2 coatings of paint. On a previously painted surface that is light in color, one coating will be enough. However on dark coated surfaces such as blue or dark brown or black it may require you to cover the surface with a regular acrylic white paint and then apply Oxygen infused paint as a TOP COAT. Wait 3 hours between each coating and 24 hours after the final coating to dry. After that Oxygen will begin its photocatalytic purification of air.

How does Oxygen remove Odor? Isn’t a deodorant enough?

Oxygen reduces odors naturally by dissolving the bonds between odor molecules without deodorants and without the use of electrical or chemical filters. Deodorants only mask bad odors, they do not get rid of them.

Does Oxygen contain environmentally safe materials?

Yes, Oxygen is environmentally friendly and safe. The production of Oxygen does not introduce waste into the environment and over 99% of its materials are natural earth minerals and fully recyclable. Our packaging is also biodegradable as we care about the health and safety of our planet. We are also members of PAINTCARE, an NGO with its head office in Washington DC and other associations in the paint industry. Furthermore, Oxygen is packaged in the United States with partners that have all the accredited seals and standards to uphold the highest environmentally safety standards.

Can your products be applied to wooden surfaces?

Being a wall and ceiling based product, we guarantee the best results for application on hard surfaces and dry walls that includes wooden surfaces so long as it is treated with an acrylic wood primer. Oxygen can also work on Canvas transforming art in to air purifiers and on metals.

Can Oxygen be mixed in large quantities away from the application site and transported?

NO, you MUST mix Oxygen additive into the paint prior to application. This guarantees that the earth minerals are dispersed evenly into the coating. We recommend mixing the Oxygen additive into paint for at least 2 minutes before application.

Can Oxygen coating on the walls withstand regular cleaning?

We do not recommend “regular cleaning” of surfaces coated with Oxygen.  If there are stains on the wall we suggest using a moist cloth and gently dabbing on top of the stained area.  Do not rub the walls by any means this will breach our warranty obligations.

What is the ideal surface ratio of Oxygen coating to a room?

Oxygen additive changes regular paint into paint with ionic powers. This means for air quality improvement you don’t have to cover the entire home, office or workspace. It can begin to clean the air even with just one wall, per room. Ideally ceilings are the best choice but if you decided to create a feature or statement wall Oxygen can provide coverage between 80 to 100 sq / feet. It’s perfect for DIY (Do it yourself) projects.

Refund or Return Policy

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds unless the product has not been opened or used. To qualify for an exchange, the item must be in its original sealed packaging and returned within [7] days of purchase. If these conditions are met, we will process an exchange.
